"Hepatic fibrosis is the final common pathway for most chronic liver diseases. The cell responsible for hepatic fibrosis appears to be the activated myofibroblast. The myofibroblast may be derived from quiescent hepatic stellate cells, epithelial to mesenchymal transition, or derived from bone marrow precursors. Hepatic fibrosis is strongly associated with oxidative stress, increased transforming growth factor beta, hepatocyte death, and chronic inflammation. Finally, the reversal of fibrosis depends upon the elimination of the activated myofibroblast"

"We must overcome the urge to do things in unison. To chant together, to hum banal tunes together, is not collectivity. A carnival is not a revolution. After the carnival, after the removal of the masks, you are precisely who you were before. After the tragedy, you are not certain who you are. Ideology is the outcome of pain. Some people want to know pain. There is no truth on the cheap. There are more people in pursuit of knowledge than the accountants will admit. There is always the possibility of an avalanche of truth-seekers.Art is a problem. The man or woman who exposes himself to art exposes himself to another problem. It is an error typical of the accountant to think there is no audience for the problem. Some people want to grow in their souls. But not all people. Consequently, tragedy is elitist."

"clastic texture is found in the rocks whose are formed from broken or fragmented detritus, this texture characterise terrigenous sediments."

In the past decade, South Korea, China and the United States have started research programs to foster circular economies by boosting remanufacturing and reuse. Europe is taking baby steps. The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research (Mistra) and the EU Horizon 2020 program published their first call for circular-economy proposals in 2014. The European Commission submitted a Circular Economy Package to the European Parliament last December. Since 2010, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, founded by the round-the-world yachtswoman, has been boosting awareness of the idea in manufacturers and policymakers. And circular-economy concepts have been successfully applied on small scales since the 1990s in eco-industrial parks such as the Kalundborg Symbiosis in Denmark, and in companies that include Xerox (selling modular goods as services), Caterpillar (remanufacturing used diesel engines) and USM Modular Furniture. Selling services rather than goods is familiar in hotels and in public transport; it needs to become mainstream in the consumer realm.

"The first public act of Ramses after his accession to sole rule was to visit Thebes, the southern capital, for the great religious festival of Opet, when the god Amon of Karnak made a state visit in his ceremonial barge to the Temple of Luxor. When returning to his home in the north, the king broke his journey at Abydos to worship Osiris and to arrange for the resumption of work on the great temple founded there by his father, which had been interrupted by the old king’s death. He also took the opportunity to appoint as the new high priest of Amon at Thebes a man named Nebwenenef, high priest of Anhur at nearby This (Thinis)."

"In mathematics, Zermelo–Fraenkel set theory, named after mathematicians Ernst Zermelo and Abraham Fraenkel, is an axiomatic system that was proposed in the early twentieth century in order to formulate a theory of sets free of paradoxes such as Russell's paradox. The axiom of choice is independent of other axioms of ZF set theory. Zermelo–Fraenkel set theory with the historically controversial axiom of choice included is abbreviated ZFC, where C stands for "choice"[1] ZF refers to the axioms of Zermelo–Fraenkel set theory with the axiom of choice excluded. Today ZFC is the standard form of axiomatic set theory and as such is the most common foundation of mathematics."

"Depression is not a normal part of growing older, and it should never be taken lightly. Unfortunately, depression often goes undiagnosed and untreated in older adults, and they may feel reluctant to seek help. Symptoms of depression may be different or less obvious in older adults, such as: memory difficulties or personality changes Physical aches or pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems or loss of interest in sex — not caused by a medical condition or medication, often wanting to stay at home, rather than going out to socialize or doing new things and suicidal thinking or feelings"

"we are guided by maxims, which are the subjective principles by which we might personally choose to abide. If these maxims can be deemed universal, such that they would be assented to and willed by any rational being,, then they may gain the status of objective laws of morality."

"The Andromeda Galaxy, spanning approximately 220,000 light years. Based on its appearance in visible light, the Andromeda Galaxy is classified as an SA-b galaxy in the classification system of spiral galaxies. A spiral galaxy like the Milky Way, Andromeda contains a concentrated bulge of matter in the middle, surrounded by a disk of gas, dust, and stars and an immense halo. Though Andromeda contains approximately a trillion stars to the quarter to half a billion in the Milky Way, our galaxy is actually more massive, because it is thought to contain more dark matter."

"The Starry Night is an oil on canvas by the Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise, with the addition of an idealized village. It has been in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City since 1941, acquired through the Lillie P. Bliss Bequest. Regarded as among Van Gogh's finest works, The Starry Night is one of the most recognized paintings in the history of Western culture."

"For starters, almost all of the mass an atom has is concentrated into an incredibly small region called the nucleus. Surrounding the nucleus is a whole lot of seemingly empty space, except for the region within an atom where electrons (and protons) can be found orbiting the central nucleus. The number of electrons within an atom depends on the element each atom is suppose to comprise.Like photons, this funky subatomic particle also exhibits the particle-wave duality, which means that the electron has characteristics of both a particle and a wave. On the other hand, they have a negative charge. Particles are, by their very nature, attracted to particles with an opposite charge, and they repel other similarly charged particles. This prevents electrons from ever coming in direct contact (in an atomic sense and literal sense). Their wave packets, on the other hand, can overlap, but never touch."

"In soda water, the dissolved ions increase the lifetime of individual hydrogen bonds between water molecules. This makes the liquid more viscous, which means carbon dioxide has a harder time forming bubbles. Sugar and alcohol, on the other hand, weaken the interaction between water molecules, although this is compensated by an increased number of hydrogen bonds between water and solute."

"One of the earliest examples of a scientific approach to physical and mathematical problems applicable to civil engineering is the work of Archimedes in the 3rd century BC, including Archimedes Principle, which underpins our understanding of buoyancy, and practical solutions such as Archimedes' screw."

"The Age of the Enlightenment witnessed considerable development in architectural theory on the European continent. New archeological discoveries (such as those of Pompeii and Herculaneum) drove new interest in Classical art and architecture."

"In the Salient pole rotor, The rotor is a large magnet with poles constructed of steel lamination projecting out of the rotor’s core. The poles are supplied by direct current or magnetized by permanent magnets. The armature with a three-phase winding is attached to three slip rings with brushes riding on them and mounted on the shaft. The field winding is wound on the rotor which produces the magnetic field and the armature winding is on the stator where voltage is induced"
